Speaking Out, Skilling Up is a free project by VALID.

The project is funded by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

We run short and easy-to-understand information sessions for:

  • NDIS participants
  • disability support workers
  • disability service providers
  • frontline staff

 

Our sessions help people learn about:

  • rights
  • safety
  • speaking up
  • what to do when something is not okay

Easy to understand

We make information easy to understand and engaging.

Our sessions use:

  • Easy Read presentations
  • real stories
  • videos
  • friendly presenters
  • people with lived experience of disability

 

You can ask questions and learn about your rights.

We come to you

We visit services and community locations all around Victoria.

What this means for you:

  • more people can join

 

At the end of each session, everyone gets a booklet to take home.

The booklet helps you remember what you learned.
